Need help configuring FFMPEG to work with a webcams h264 stream

I have been trying to get a H264 stream from a H264 usb webcam working but I am not making much progress so I'm hoping someone knows FFMPEG better than me!

There are dozens of questions/answers on SO but none solve my problem.

In short, I get a very pixelated (or sometimes mostly green) screen. I am using VLC to test the stream which is coming via an RTSP server. I am using FFMPEG to copy the webcam stream to the local RTSP server.

The webcam also supports YUYV which I can get working - it is just the h264 stream causing me problems.

So this is how the device is presented:

H264 USB Camera: USB Camera (usb-20980000.usb-1):
 /dev/video0
 /dev/video1
 /dev/video2
 /dev/video3

/dev/video0 is the YUYV and MPEG stream /dev/video2 is the h264 stream that has the following capabilities:

ioctl: VIDIOC_ENUM_FMT
 Type: Video Capture

I have tried various resolutions, the smaller giving slightly less pixelated images but none are usable and definitely dont compare to the YUYV high resolution results.

This (YUYV) command works:

ffmpeg -input_format yuyv422 -f video4linux2 -s 1280x720 -r 10 -i /dev/video0 -c:v h264_omx -r 10 -b:v 2M -an -f rtsp rtsp://localhost:80/live/stream

These two h264 options dont work:

ffmpeg -input_format h264 -f video4linux2 -video_size 1920x1080 -framerate 30 -i /dev/video0 -c:v copy -an -f rtsp rtsp://localhost:80/live/stream
ffmpeg -re -i /dev/video2 -video_size 800x600 -framerate 15 -pix_fmt yuv420p -tune zerolatency -c:v copy -an -f rtsp rtsp://localhost:80/live/stream

For that last command the FFMPEG output looks like this:

The issue looks like it is bandwidth related or the lack of processing power in the device being used BUT the YUYV works at a high resolution and (taking a completely different approach i.e. not using FFMPEG) I can get a very decent MPEG stream working on the same device.

So any FFMPEG experts out there who can help me with getting the correct parameters for a h264 stream?

FFMPEG YUV444 to YUV420

$

Soo I need to use a video reader which onl accepts yuv420. I have videos which are yuv444 and have very weird resolutions (they come from an algorith and they are videos manually created stacking frames)

Soo I tried the following

ffmpeg -i CJMOPvsinJE.mp4 -pix_fmt yuv420p yuv420.mp4

But it seems that resolution have to be even.

[libx264 @ 0x556e02626660] width not divisible by 2 (241x1080)
Error initializing output stream 0:0 -- Error while opening encoder for output stream #0:0 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height

Sooo I solved it by cropping.

ffmpeg -i CJMOPvsinJE.mp4 -filter:v "crop=240:1080:1:0" -pix_fmt yuv420p yuv420.mp4

Buuut The fact is that I need to perform this operation for a bunch of videos.

Is there a way to tell ffmpeg to crop to the nearest even resolution? Namely, if resolution is odd just to remove 1 row/column.

Async function doesn't pop off a second time

$

I'm creating a button to record a canvas using FFMPEG. Here's the code that finalizes the download process.

const recordButton = document.querySelector("#record")
recordButton.addEventListener('click', function () {
function startRecording() {
const { createFFmpeg } = FFmpeg;
const ffmpeg = createFFmpeg({
 log: true
});

var transcode = async (webcamData) => {
 var name = `record${id}.webm`;
 await ffmpeg.load();
 await ffmpeg.write(name, webcamData);
 await ffmpeg.transcode(name, `output${id}.mp4`);
 var data = ffmpeg.read(`output${id}.mp4`);

 var video = document.getElementById('output-video');
 video.src = URL.createObjectURL(new Blob([data.buffer], { type: 'video/mp4' }));
 dl.href = video.src;
}

fn().then(async ({ url, blob }) => {
 transcode(new Uint8Array(await (blob).arrayBuffer()));
})

...

id += 1}

The problem arises with the transcode variable. While the button works initially, every other attempt (on a single page load) fails just the async function. I'm not well versed enough in the function to know why it would only work once. That said, I do know it is the only bit of code that does not fire off upon second attempt.

It could be a few things. This is borrowed code, and I've repurposed it for multiple uses. I may have messed up the declarations. It may be an async issue. I tried to use available values to rig up a secondary, similar function, but that would defeat the purpose of the first.

I tried clearing and appending the DOM elements affected, but that doesn't do anything.

FFMPEG (libx264) "height not divisible by 2"

$

I am trying to encode a .mp4 video from a set of frames using FFMPEG using the libx264 codec.

This is the command I am running:

/usr/local/bin/ffmpeg -r 24 -i frame_%05d.jpg -vcodec libx264 -y -an video.mp4

I sometimes get the following error:

[libx264 @ 0xa3b85a0] height not divisible by 2 (520x369)

After searching around a bit it seems that the issue has something to do with the scaling algorithm and can be fixed by adding a -vf argument.

However, in my case I don't want to do any scaling. Ideally, I want to keep the dimensions exactly the same as the frames. Any advice? Is there some sort of aspect ratio that h264 enforces?

FFMPEG Concat protocol Error: Found duplicated MOOV Atom. Skipped it

$

I'm concatenating mp3 files into a single m4a.

To save time, I'm doing the mp3 to m4a conversion first (multi-threaded) and then concatenating the output files (m4a) into a single m4a file.

The concat works when I do the conversion (mp3 -> m4a) and cancat in one swoop. But it takes forever to run.

Example:

ffmpeg -i "concat:001.mp3|002.mp3|003.mp3" -codec:a aac -c copy output.m4a

If I take those same mp3 files and convert them to m4a in parallel and then concat, I can save myself a significant amount time.

The problem is if I run the concat command on the converted m4a files

Example cmd :

ffmpeg -i "concat:001.m4a|002.m4a|003.m4a" -c copy output.m4a

I getting the following error:

[mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2 @ 000000000052f680] Found duplicated MOOV Atom. Skipped it

UPDATE: Ouput when concatenating m4a files (two track example):

I am happy posting my first question. I want to add advertising section at specific time of video. The advertising section is image and intro audio about that image.

ffmpeg v4l2(UVC camera) stream h264 video to local device

I have a UVC camera which supports h264 protocol. we can see the h264 listed below when we list all formats supported.

msm8909:/data # ./ffmpeg -f v4l2 -list_formats all -i /dev/video1

I am running the ffmpeg cmd to record UVC camera video to local device.

ffmpeg -f v4l2 -input_format h264 -framerate 30 -video_size 1280*720 -i /dev/video1 -c copy /sdcard/Movies/output.mkv

The video size is way bigger than running the command below:

ffmpeg -f v4l2 -input_format mjpeg -framerate 30 -video_size 1280*720 -i /dev/video1 -c:v libx264 -vf format=yuv420p /sdcard/Movies/output.mp4

I assume the camera already supports h264 protocol. Thus I don't need to re-encode to 264 formats. However, the video size does not look like an H264 encoded video.

How to merge audio and images to create a video in android [closed]

I have to merge audio with images to create a video in android. Is there any third party library to do that or we have to use the FFmpeg commands to do so? FFmpeg commands are time-consuming for converting into the video.

Please guide me through this. Thanks

Ffmpeg H.264 encode video is sped up if camera capture with low light

$

I'm encoding everything to H.264. If h264_qsv is available I'm using it, else libx264. Works fine, but I noticed that if the camera is recording in low light, the video saved is sped up like x2 or x3. And I'm not sure where the problem is. Creating the input format context:

 private AVFormatContext* CreateFormatContext()
 {
 AVDictionary* options = null;

 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "packet-buffering", "0", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "sync", "1", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "rtsp_transport", "tcp", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "reconnect", "1", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "analyzeduration", "2000000", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "probesize", (16384 * 16).ToString(), 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "max_delay", "0", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "reorder_queue_size", "0", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "skip_frame", "8", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "skip_loop_filter", "48", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_dict_set(&options, "rtbufsize", "1000M", 0);

 AVFormatContext* pInputFmtCtx = ffmpeg.avformat_alloc_context();

 AVInputFormat* inputFormat = null;

 if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(_format))
 {
 inputFormat = ffmpeg.av_find_input_format(_format);

 if (inputFormat == null)
 {
 //throw
 }
 }

 int ret = ffmpeg.avformat_open_input(&pInputFmtCtx, _streamUrl, inputFormat, &options);

 if (ret != 0)
 {
 //throw
 }

 return pInputFmtCtx;
 }

video decoder

 private void CreateVideoDecoder()
 {
 AVStream* videoStream = InputFormatContext->streams[VideoStreamIndex];
 AVCodecParameters* videoCodecParams = videoStream->codecpar;
 AVCodec* videoDecoder = ffmpeg.avcodec_find_decoder(videoCodecParams->codec_id);

 VideoDecodeContext = ffmpeg.avcodec_alloc_context3(videoDecoder);

 if (ffmpeg.avcodec_parameters_to_context(VideoDecodeContext, videoCodecParams) < 0)
 {
 //throw
 }

 if (ffmpeg.avcodec_open2(VideoDecodeContext, videoDecoder, null) < 0)
 {
 //throw
 }
 }

and the h264 encoder

private void CreateH264Encoder(AVStream* inputStream, AVStream* outputStream)
 {
 AVRational framerate = ffmpeg.av_guess_frame_rate(_inputContext.InputFormatContext, inputStream, null);

 AVCodec* videoEncoder = ffmpeg.avcodec_find_encoder_by_name("h264_qsv");
 if (videoEncoder == null)
 {
 videoEncoder = ffmpeg.avcodec_find_encoder_by_name("libx264");
 PixelFormat = AVPixelFormat.AV_PIX_FMT_YUV420P;
 }

 if (videoEncoder == null)
 {
 //throw
 }

 VideoEncodeContext = ffmpeg.avcodec_alloc_context3(videoEncoder);

 if (VideoEncodeContext == null)
 {
 //throw
 }

 VideoEncodeContext->width = _inputContext.VideoDecodeContext->width;
 VideoEncodeContext->height = _inputContext.VideoDecodeContext->height;
 VideoEncodeContext->pix_fmt = PixelFormat;
 VideoEncodeContext->bit_rate = 2 * 1000 * 1000;
 VideoEncodeContext->rc_buffer_size = 4 * 1000 * 1000;
 VideoEncodeContext->rc_max_rate = 2 * 1000 * 1000;
 VideoEncodeContext->rc_min_rate = 3 * 1000 * 1000;
 VideoEncodeContext->framerate = framerate;
 VideoEncodeContext->max_b_frames = 0;
 VideoEncodeContext->time_base = ffmpeg.av_inv_q(framerate);
 VideoEncodeContext->flags |= ffmpeg.AV_CODEC_FLAG_GLOBAL_HEADER;

 ffmpeg.av_opt_set(VideoEncodeContext->priv_data, "preset", "slow", 0);
 ffmpeg.av_opt_set(VideoEncodeContext->priv_data, "vprofile", "baseline", 0);

 if (ffmpeg.avcodec_open2(VideoEncodeContext, videoEncoder, null) < 0)
 {
 //throw
 }

 ffmpeg.avcodec_parameters_from_context(outputStream->codecpar, VideoEncodeContext);
 }

I'm using ffmpeg 4.0.1, so I'm decoding/encoding with the new format API which I'll skip to share for now because its nothing more than following the link: https://ffmpeg.org/doxygen/3.3/group__lavc__encdec.html

I need to install libx264 on OpenSuse Leap 15.1.

I am following the steps here: https://software.opensuse.org/package/libx264?locale=nb Where I see that there is an option for OpenSuse Leap 15.1. and I click the 'Community packages' option.

There are 3 options:

Option 1: home:regataos

I select 'Expert download'

zypper addrepo https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:regataos/openSUSE_Leap_15.1/home:regataos.repo
zypper refresh
zypper install libx264
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
'libx264' not found in package names. Trying capabilities.
No provider of 'libx264' found.
Resolving package dependencies...

Nothing to do.

Option 2: home:smarty12:multimedia

I select 'Expert download'

zypper addrepo https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:smarty12:multimedia/openSUSE_Leap_15.1/home:smarty12:multimedia.repo
zypper refresh
zypper install libx264
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
Resolving package dependencies...

The following 2 NEW packages are going to be installed:
libx264 libx264-157

2 new packages to install.
Overall download size: 556.5 KiB. Already cached: 0 B. After the operation, additional 2.0 MiB will be used.

So this appears to have installed it.

Now when I try to convert a file from one type to I get the error: "Decoder (codec h264) not found for input stream #0:1"
